You’re doing dance, great! But now what?

As with most things it is important to have goals! So why should dance be any different. With anything in life you can take it as easy or as seriously as you like, there is no one size fits all. So your dance goal can be a simple or as ambitious as you like!

Time to set a goal

Step 1) Set a goal for yourself, something that you want to achieve can be as simple as “I want to be able to do a Cabbage Patch” or “I want to make some new friends at Dance”

Step 2) Tell someone about your goal. This will help keep you on track, and accountability is a great motivator. If it’s a dance related goal tell your teacher, they will definitely help you along the way.

Step 3) Do it! You can plan all you like, but there comes a time when you have to put in the hard yards. Now is that time.

Step 4) Track / Reflect how you’re progressing toward reaching your goal. This will let you monitor your current efforts and actions towards reaching your goal. This might lead to another round of Step 3. If you’ve already achieved your goal, then it’s a good time to reflect on your journey and give yourself a pat on the back!
